Attagoyuk Ilisavik High School
Attagoyuk Ilisavik is the community Junior High and High School in Pangnirtung. We have a student population of approximately 240 students from grades 6 to 12 and a staff of 28 (including support staff). Our mandate under the Department of Education, Government of Nunavut is to develop able human beings through programming grounded in Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit (Inuit ways of knowing, being and doing).
Attagoyuk Ilisavik along with Alookie School (K to grade 5) are known for the annual Spring Camp program which promotes traditional land skills learning with and from elders and community members. The camp is usually held for three weeks in late April/early May.
Alookie Elementary School
Alookie School is the community Elementary that teaches grades K-5. Alookie's student population is 176 (May 2010), and the total number of staff is 17. Alookie follows the same mandate as Attagoyuk.
Community Learning Centre - Nunavut Arctic College
The Pangnirtung Community Learning Centre offers a wide range of learning opportunities, bringing Nunavut Arctic College programs to the community.
